Deadline to pay property taxes is Monday, October 17

    The deadline to pay personal property taxes in Arkansas is Monday, October 17, according to Baxter County Collector Teresa Smith. She says the tax statement for local and state real and personal property was sent out seven months ago.

     Baxter County resident may pay their property taxes by mail to the collector’s office, at 8 East 7th Street, Mountain Home, 72658. Payments made by mail must be postmarked no later than October 17 to avoid late charges. Payments may also be made in person by with cash, check or credit card the same address no later than October 17.

     Anyone with questions about the amount of their property tax or if it has been paid already may call the collector’s office at 425-8300 or check online, says Smith.

     The normal property tax payment deadline is October 15. Since the 15th is on a Saturday, the deadline is Monday the 17th. Anyone paying after the 17th will be considered delinquent and be subject to penalties, plus interest and administrative fees, with no exceptions made.
