Delta also said it expected more than 100 flight cancellations Tuesday morning.

The airline warned customers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

“Delta has experienced a computer outage that has affected flights scheduled for this morning,” a statement said Monday morning. “Flights awaiting departure are currently delayed. Flights en route are operating normally. Delta is advising travelers to check the status of their flights this morning while the issue is being addressed.”

In 2015, The Economist ranked Delta as the top airline carrier in the world in terms of passengers.
