The third day of early voting for the November 8 General Election brought the largest number of registered voters to the polls so far in Baxter and Marion counties. Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese says early voting broke the 1000 mark with 1001 votes cast Wednesday bringing the three day early voting total to 2,877 votes cast. Dawn Moffit from Marion County Clerk’s office reported 339 votes cast Wednesday, up slightly from the previous day by one vote. She believes the addition of a third voting machine at the county courthouse polling location to the increase in voters casting ballots.

Izard county reported 173 early votes cast Wednesday bringing their three day total to 558 ballots cast.

Some voters are unfamiliar with the ballot and issues they will be considering when entering the voting booth, says Reese, thus slowing the process and creating long waits for other voters. Her office has begun passing out sample ballots to those waiting in line, but encourages voter to study the ballot and issues becore coming to the polls.
