The action/adventure flick tells the story of a group of mercenaries hired by a secret government agency to disrupt a criminal partnership between the Russian mob and Mexican drug cartels.

The film, which was shot in black-and-white and runs two hours, features Smith as a ruthless Russian mob boss named Yury Streinkov. Desolation Angels/Rise of the BOAS was directed by veteran photographer Jayson Byrd, and was shot in dozens of locations in Fairfield County, Connecticut. According to a post on Smith’s official website, the movie is “based on the morality issues raised in classical Greek mythology,” such as, “Are we able to change our fate or is life predestined by the gods?”

Smith, who was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of Alice Cooper in 2011, recorded the film’s theme song, “Desolation Angels,” with his group KillSmith. You can purchase the tune now at CD Baby, while an official video for the song featuring scenes from the movie can be viewed at the Neal Smith Rocks YouTube channel.
