Friday schedule includes MH girls continuing Bulldog Classic

High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home’s girls continue action in the Centennial Bank Bulldog Classic at Fayetteville. The Lady Bombers’ opponent will be Little Rock Central.

Mountain Home is currently 3-4 on th season. The Lady Bombers began the classic Thursday by suffering a five-point loss to Monticello.

Tip-off is scheduled for four p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.



The Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament resumes in Batesville and Southside.

A few local teams will play in the consolation semifinals at Southside High School. On the girls’ side, Salem and Calico Rock tip off at 4:00, and Izard County meets Cave City at 6:30. On the boys’ bracket, Viola takes on Highland at 5:15, and Izard County faces Bald Knob at 7:45.

Both of Mountain View’s teams will play Southside in the semifinals at Becknell Gym on the Lyon College campus in Batesville. The girls’ game tips off at 4:00 followed by the varsity boys.



In other high school basketball, Cotter travels to Flippin, Yellville-Summit hosts Bakersfield, Bruno-Pyatt entertains St. Joe, Lutie makes the trip to Niangua, Dora’s boys are home against Koshkonong, Melbourne heads to Corning, Marshall hosts Kingston, Timbo entertains Western Grove, Rural Special travels to Pangburn, Lead Hill is home against Green Forest, Valley Springs hosts Lonoke, and Omaha entertains Eureka Springs.



There is also wrestling on the local schedule as Mountain Home heads to Centerton. The Bombers will compete in the Northwest Arkansas Duals on the campus of Bentonville West High School.
