Brad BransonA star-studded documentary and a deluxe package will celebrate the reissue of George Michael‘s 1990 album Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1.

George’s second solo album, the disc featured the hits “Freedom ’90” and “Praying for Time,” and sold eight million copies.  It’s being re-released as a 25th anniversary deluxe limited-edition box set, which will include George’s 1996 MTV Unplugged performance. You’ll also be able to get it as a double CD, and as a vinyl LP.

To go along with the reissue, a documentary about the former Wham! frontman, called Freedom: George Michael, will premiere on Showtime on a yet-to-be announced date.  The movie tells the story of the making of Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1, including the death of the love of George’s life, Anselmo Feleppo, who he met shortly after the album’s release.  It also delves into George’s lawsuit against his record company, who he accused of failing to support him as an artist.

George narrates the movie, but it features an amazingly lineup of his friends and collaborators: Elton John, Mary J. Blige, Tony Bennett, James Corden, Ricky Gervais, Stevie Wonder and Mark Ronson are just some of the celebrities who appear in the movie, along with the supermodels who starred in the iconic “Freedom ’90” video: Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Tatjana Patitz.
