High numbers of early voting numbers across area

     Long lines and unusually high numbers of registered voters turnout across the Twin Lakes Area for the first day of early voting in the November 8 General Election. In Baxter County, where 952 voters cast their ballots. Baxter County Clerk Canda Reese says there were long lines at both locations, the courthouse and Twin Lakes Plaza, but voting went smoothly. However, there is something all voters could do to help the voting process move faster, she says.

     County clerks in Marion, Fulton and Izard counties reported long lines and high voting numbers on their first day of early voting. Marion County reported 284 early voters, Fulton County had 174 ballots cast and Izard County saw 182 first day voters.

     Early voting across Arkansas continues until Monday, November 7 at 5 p.m. In Baxter County, early voting is at the courthouse Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Twin Lakes Plaza Monday through Friday from 10 am. to 4 p.m. Marion County and Fulton County voters can cast their ballots during the early ballots at their county courthouses Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fulton County will also have early voting in Mammoth Springs at Simmons Bank on Saturday, October 28 only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Izard County voters can vote early at Ozarka College in Melbourne Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Early voting will also take place in Horseshoe Bend on November 3 and 4th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
