A husband and wife were arrested after an Izard County Deputy met a vehicle he believed was being driven by a person with an Izard County warrant.
When the deputy turned around to conduct a traffic stop, the driver, 43 year old Jerry Dickerson, exited the vehicle and ran into a nearby wooded area and left his wife, 43 year old Jeana Dickerson, in the vehicle. According to a report from the Izard County Sheriff's Office, both Jeana and Jerry were wanted on outstanding warrants in Fulton and Baxter Counties for failure to appear and possession of an instrument of crime.
Jerry Dickerson was captured a short time later with the assistance of the Arkansas Department of Correction's Calico Rock Unit dog team. During the search of the vehicle, Chief Investigator Charles Melton discovered a purse on the passenger side of the vehicle containing methamphetamine, four syringes and a metal spoon.
Jeana Dickerson was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with the intent to use drug paraphernalia, both class D felonies. She is being held in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000. Jerry Dickerson is being held on warranted charges of failure to appear, fleeing and an out of state felony warrant. He is being held in lieu $3,000.
