Jimmy Page & Joe Elliott to Appear at 2016 “Classic Rock” Roll of Honour Ceremony in Tokyo

Jo Hale/Getty Images; Paul Archuleta/FilmMagicLed Zeppelin‘s Jimmy Page and Def Leppard‘s Joe Elliott have joined the lineup of the 2016 edition of the Classic Rock Roll of Honour ceremony, which for the first time ever will be held in Tokyo. The awards show will take place on November 11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan Stadium, which is considered the spiritual home of sumo wrestling.

The event, which is organized by U.K. magazine Classic Rock, also will feature previously announced appearances by Jeff Beck, Cheap Trick, Joe WalshDef Leppard‘s Phil Collen, and ex-Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and his current collaborator and girlfriend, Orianthi.

Beck will be presented with the evening’s highest honor, and will be giving a special performance with a one-off backing band featuring Stone Temple PilotsDean and Robert DeLeo, Alice Cooper guitarist Tommy Henriksen and Korn drummer Ray Luzier.

Billy Anderson, chief executive of Classic Rock parent company TeamRock, says, “Rock musicians don’t come much more ‘classic’ than Jimmy Page and to have him and Jeff Beck — two masters of their trade — together at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour in Tokyo will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.” Anderson adds that Elliott “is an international rock icon and we are thrilled that he will be there with us in Japan.”

Nominees for this year’s Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards include David Gilmour, Def Leppard, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Iggy Pop, Fleetwood Mac, Queen and The Ramones.
