Junior Lady Bombers finish second in MHIT

The Mountain Home Invitational Tournament came to an end Saturday as Mountain Home's junior high girls' basketball team was looking to take home a first-place finish, but it wasn't to be as they fell to Batesville 45-38. Hannah Pfiefer led the Junior Lady Bombers with 17 points. Mountain Home falls to 9-4 on the season, and they will host Bergman on Monday.
The boys' championship game required overtime as Cotter lost to Bergman 51-44. The Junior Warriors were led by Matthew Gorbet with 20 points, and Dawson Burns added 11. Cotter drops to 20-3 on the year.

Izard County's junior high teams finished with a split on the final day of the Izard County Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Harold Ray Jeffrey Gymnasium in Calico Rock.
The Junior Lady Cougars won the tournament with a 54-36 victory over Salem. Izard County's record improves to 21-3.
Izard County did not fare as well in the junior boys' final as they lost to Calico Rock 39-37 in overtime. The Junior Cougars fall to 12-8 on the season.

The Mountain Home seventh grade girls had a tough day as they were in tournament action at Cave City. The Seventh Grade Lady Bombers fell to Jonesboro Westside 18-15, and they lost to Southside Batesville 20-10.
