Justin Marks Wins First XFINITY Series Race

Jared C. Tilton/Getty Images(LEXINGTON, Ohio) — Justin Marks picked up his first XFINITY Series win Saturday on a rainy day at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Marks took command after a late restart to win the Mid-Ohio Challenge. The 35-year-old Chip Ganassi Racing driver dedicated the victory to the late Bryan Clauson, who died from injuries suffered at a sprint car event the previous weekend in Kansas.

“Bryan’s short career in stock car racing came with Chip Ganassi Racing, so it’s great to be able to put this thing in Victory Lane to honor him and think about him,” Marks said, according to NASCAR.com. “He’s a real American hero race car driver. Bryan was. They don’t make them like that anymore.”

The Sprint Cup Series was off this weekend. The Cup drivers will be back in action for a night race at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 20.
