Barney Larry of Mountain Home has been appointed to the board of trustees at Williams Baptist University (WBU). The board of trustees is the governing body for the private, Christian university in Walnut Ridge.

Larry is executive director of the Baxter Regional Medical Center Foundation and vice president of business development at the medical center.

He has served previously on the WBU board.

The Board of Trustees at WBU is composed of 24 members, appointed by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, which owns and operates the university.

“Mr. Larry brings passion, expertise and experience to the WBU Board of Trustees, and we are delighted he has agreed to serve. He will be a tremendous asset as we move forward into the exciting days ahead for Williams,” says Dr. Stan Norman, president of WBU.

Larry and his wife, Debbie, are members of Mountain Home First Baptist Church.

WBU is a liberal arts university with more than 25 bachelor’s degree majors, as well as two masters degrees in education. It has an enrollment of 553 students.
