Lawnmower races, 9N Band highlight Saturday’s fair schedule

The 93rd annual Baxter County Fair will close Saturday night following a week of activities and events.

Both the fair’s commercial exhibits and the carnival will open at 10 Saturday morning and remain open until 9 or later that night.

Regular gate admission Saturday is $5, with those 5 or younger getting in for free. A free gate pass is available at the Mountain Home Hardee’s with the purchase of a large combo meal.

Fair rides take one to four tickets, depending on the ride. Ride tickets cost $1.50 each and are available to purchase at the fairgrounds.

Home Depot will open the day hosting its Kids Workshop at 10 on the fairgrounds’ stage.

The kids stick horse rodeo, relay races and treasure hunt will be held from 10:30-12:30 at the livestock arena.

The annual 4-H poultry hen sale will be held at 12:30 at the Critter Barn.

The parade of champions will be held at 1 at the livestock arena, after which time most animals will be released to return home.

The chainsaw carving competition will be held at the livestock arena beginning at 4 Saturday afternoon.

The annual lawnmower races will be held at the Saddle Club Arena beginning at 6. Admission to the lawnmower races are $3 for adults and $2 for children.

The 9N Band will serve as Saturday night’s musical entertainment, performing from 7-9 on the outdoor stage.
