MH Police warn of possible mystery shopper scam

     The Mountain Home Police Department is informing residents of a possible scam in the Twin Lakes Area. The local law enforcement agency recently received information citizens could be receiving what appears to be a check from an executive independent mystery shopper.

     Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says his department issued the advisory after being contacted by a local bank.

     Chief Manuel adds there are legitimate mystery shopper and service evaluation jobs that do exist. He says the main thing to watch out for with the scams is the pre-payment of services.

     The police chief says if residents believe they are being approached by a mystery shopper scam, a good place to start to go online to the website of the Arkansas Attorney General.
