It was a pair of exciting wins for the Mountain Home High School basketball teams Tuesday night at home as they both picked up one point victories over Searcy.
The girl's game had the wildest finish with Cassie Martin hitting two free throws with seven tenths of a second left to give the Lady Bombers a 38-37 win over Searcy. The teams had four lead changes in the final 42 seconds of the game. The Lady Lions took their first lead of the game with 42 seconds left. Mountain Home went back on top with 22 seconds left on a three pointer by Briana Leonard. Searcy re-took the lead when Arabriaun Mack hit a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left. The Lady Bombers had the ball at midcourt with three seconds left when Martin took the inbounds pass and drove into the paint where she was fouled, leading to the game winning free throws.
Martin finished the night with 13 points while Breelyn Arms had a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Bombers improve to 6-15 and 3-6 in the 7A/6A East Conference.
Searcy got 11 points and 10 rebounds from Angelina Williams as they fall to 14-7 and 4-4.
In the boy's contest, Mountain Home edged Searcy 45-44. It was a tight game through out with ten lead changes and seven ties. The Bombers sealed the win by hitting six of eight free throws in the final minute and earn their second conference win of the season.
Preston Groesbeck led the Mountain Home scoring with 13 points as the Bombers improve to 7-13 and 2-7 in conference play.
For Searcy, who drops to 7-13 and 3-5, Emaje Young poured in 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Mountain Home will travel to Cabot Friday night.
In other boy's action in the 7A/6A East, Cabot beat Marion 56-48, North Little Rock defeated West Memphis 84-67 and Jonesboro topped Little Rock Central 55-39.
In girl's games, North Little Rock handed West Memphis their first conference loss 60-50, Cabot beat Marion 62-46 and Little Rock Central blasted Jonesboro 56-27.
