MHHS wins pair of cross country conference titles

The Mountain Home High School cross country teams both captured conference championships Tuesday afternoon competing on their home course for the 6A East Conference meet.



The Lady Bombers finished with 22 points, easily outdistancing second place Jonesboro who had 51 points.

Mountain Home’s Rebecca McGough is the 6A East individual champion with a time of 21:35, 24 seconds ahead of the second place runner from Jonesboro.

Five Lady Bombers also earned All-Conference honors by finishing in the top ten. Victoria Strange finished third for Mountain Home, Alexa Darracq was fifth, Chloe Nosari was sixth, Bella Bevel was seventh and Lexi Coroch was tenth.



The Bombers won their conference championship with 23 points while Marion was second with 53 points.

Mountain Home was led by David Byrd with a second place finish, just 19 seconds behind the winner from Marion.

The Bombers had seven of the top ten runners in the race. Also earning All-Conference honors were Hunt Nosari who was third, Corey Queen in fifth place, Ewan Platt who was sixth, Glen Sailor who finished seventh, Lance Lee in eighth place and Cody Cline who was ninth.



The Mountain Home cross country teams will compete in the Class 6A State Meet November 12th at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs.
