Tonight, Fox presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show — Let’s Do the Time Warp Again, a live reboot of the 1976 cult musical comedy film that put Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry, Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick on the map, and featured daring depictions of bisexuality, cross-dressing, cannibalism and more.

Curry was the original movie’s star, portraying Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a transvestite alien mad scientist who creates Rocky, a hunky blond, as his sex slave. When innocent couple Brad and Janet — originally played by Sarandon and Bostwick, respectively — arrive at Frank’s mansion, they enter a hedonistic world where sexual hijinks, partner-swapping and murder are on the menu. Orange Is the New Black star and transgender actress Laverne Cox plays Frank in the Fox production, while Curry will be featured as the narrator.

Meat Loaf, who played the lobotomized biker character Eddie in the original flick, tells ABC Radio that he isn’t sure why the movie still captivates, while noting that it features some inspirational advice.

“I can’t explain it,” the singer says. “The only thing that I can explain about Rocky Horror is there’s a line in it and it says, ‘Don’t dream it; be it.’ … If you want something, go and work for it! And that’s what I’ve done.”

Meat Loaf also says that he’s excited that Curry, who suffered a major stroke in 2013, is taking part in the new production.

The cast also for tonight’s special includes Victoria Justice as Janet, Ryan McCartan as Brad, Adam Lambert as Eddie and Ben Vereen as Dr. Scott.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show — Let’s Do the Time Warp Again airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET.
