In high school basketball Monday, Izard County swept Cedar Ridge at home. The Cougars were 96-40 winners. Justus Cooper led Izard County with 28 points and 12 rebounds, Taylor Reynolds had 22 points and 11 boards and Tanner Brooks scored 20. The Izard County boys improve to 7-5.
Izard County won the senior girls’ game 65-34 to improve to 8-2. Kennedy Cooper led the attack with 20 points while Kristen Caraway and Natalie Everett each scored 10.
In the junior boys’ game, Izard County topped Cedar Ridge 57-46. Caleb Faulker had 21 points and Coby Everett scored 17 as the Junior Cougars up their record to 8-2.
Mammoth Spring won a pair of games at Koshkonong. The Bears were 53-24 winners to improve to 8-2. Sagen Godwin finished with 17 points and Logan Skaggs added 13.
In the girls’ game, Mammoth Spring topped Koshkonong 62-34. Brianna Hocum led the way with 20 points while Stephanie Henry added 15. The Lady Bears are now 5-4 on the season.
Mountain Home won two of three junior high boys’ games at home over Greene County Tech.
The Junior Bombers posted a 55-50 victory. Wyatt Gilbert pumped in 20 points for Mountain Home.
Mountain Home won the 8th grade game 38-31 to improve to 4-0. Brandon Morris led the scoring with 16 points.
Greene County Tech got a shot at the buzzer to win the 7th grade game 27-24. Cooper Oxford paced Mountain Home with eight points.
