Monday schedule includes basketball, bowling, swimming

Basketball, bowling and swimming make up the local Monday schedule.



The Mountain Home High School bowling teams will be in Jonesboro as they meet Westside. Action begins at four p.m. at Jonesboro Bowling Center.

Elsewhere, Norfork travels to Horseshoe Bend to face Melbourne, and Flippin takes on Southside Batesville at Bull Shoals Lanes.



Mountain Home’s high school swim teams will be on the road as they compete in a meet at Pocahontas. The start time is set for 5:00.



A few local high school boys’ basketball teams will be in Green Forest for the start of the Anstaff Bank Holiday Tournament. Bruno-Pyatt and Omaha are scheduled to tip off at 5:50, St. Joe plays Berryville at 7:10, and Lead Hill meets Eureka Springs at 8:30.

The Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament will get underway at the Becknell Gymnasium in Batesville. On the boys’ side, Salem tips off at 4:00 against Bald Knob, Calico Rock faces Cedar Ridge at 6:30, and Viola takes on Highland at 7:45. The only girls’ game of the night will be at 5:15 between Salem and Cedar Ridge.

Gainesville will play their first game in the Mansfield Boys’ Tournament. The Bulldogs will be paried with Morrisville at 7:30.

In other high school basketball, Lutie hosts Koshkonong, and Melbourne entertains Thayer.



Mountain Home will send four junior high teams to the road as they play Valley Springs. The seventh grade girls’ game tips off at 4:30 followed by the seventh grade boys and both eighth grade contests.

Also on the junior high level, Yellville-Summit is home against Marshall, Rural Special will compete in the Greers Ferry Lake Classic at Nemo Vista High School in Center Ridge, and Jasper hosts Deer.
