Mountain Home Education Foundation announces 2021 inductees

The Mountain Home Education Foundation’s Board of Directors has announced its 2021 Hall of Honor inductees.

The Distinguished Alumnus award will go to Jim Bodenhamer. Bodenhamer is a graduate of Mountain Home High School who served his country for 34 years in the U.S. Army. He has a degree in journalism from Arkansas State University and worked as a journalist for more than 40 years, most of them at KTLO radio, before retiring in 2013.

The Community Partner award will be presented to Dr. Rob Conner & All Creatures Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Conner, a MHHS graduate, owns and operates All Creatures Veterinary Hospital. He has partnered with Mountain Home Public Schools in a variety of capacities over the past two decades, including as the chair of the district’s Career & Technical Education Advisory Board. He and his veterinary staff also host MHHS student interns each year with the goal of exposing them to potential careers in veterinary science.

The Retired Classified Employee (Earnest Perry Award) will go to Judy St. Clair. St. Clair worked at MHPS for more than 30 years in the special education department. She began her career as an aid and eventually ran the Special Education Office. During her time in the district, she also drove a school bus route and served as a shuttle driver for several years. She retired from the district in 2011.

The Retired Educator award will be presented to Janet Wood. Wood joined the district in 1981 and spent 40 years impacting the lives of students in various roles. Her first role as girls’ basketball coach included a state title in 1986. Wood also served the district in various administrative roles including athletic director for 11 years, and she completed the last four years of her career as kindergarten principal.
