A Mountain Home man with outstanding arrest warrants now faces felony charges following his arrest Thursday by Mountain Home Police during a stop for a traffic violation. Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says 36 year old Brandy B. Barnes, who has outstanding warrants for theft and failure to appear, is now charged with possession of drugs with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs and firearms, as a felon in possession of firearms and misdemeanor traffic violations. He is being held on $37,000 bond in the Baxter County jail.

According to Manuel, when Barnes was stopped by police, it was learned he had the outstanding warrants and a drug sniffing canine alerted the officer there were drugs in the vehicle. Suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm were found during a search of the vehicle. As a Texas felon, Barnes is prohibited from possessing a gun.
