An alumnus of Norfork High School will be getting his first opportunity as a head coach this upcoming school year. Eddie Potts will lead the boys’ basketball program at Camden Harmony Grove High School.

Potts has spent the last three years as the assistant girls’ basketball coach and head cross country coach at Star City. In 2020, the Ladydog basketball team finished the season unbeaten and as the Class 4A state co-champions. They weren’t able to play a title game due to the coronavirus pandemic. Star City also advanced to the state tournament in each of the last two years.

During his time as an undergraduate student at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, he served from July 2016 through May 2019 as a volunteer assistant coach for girls’ basketball, football, cross country and baseball at Dover. He was also key to running the pee wee basketball programs at Dover and Star City.

After graduating from Norfork, he received his bachelor of science degree in health and physical education for kindergarten through 12th grade at Arkansas Tech in May 2019. Last month, he earned a master of science in educational leadership-building administration at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
