Pine Bluff boy dead, 4 injured in Jefferson County crash

     LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – A Pine Bluff boy died and four others were injured in a car crash in Jefferson County.

     A preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police says that the crash happened around 6:20 a.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 65 at the Cottondale overpass.

     Police say the boy was a passenger in a vehicle traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck a guardrail. A passenger in the vehicle was ejected and struck by another car.

     The police report doesn’t specify whether the ejected passenger was the boy, whose age is unknown. The driver and three other passengers in the vehicle that hit the guardrail were injured.

     The report says it was raining and the road was wet.
