The Marion County Master Gardeners annual plant sale will take place Friday morning beginning at 7:30 at Yellville City Park.

Various events will take place during the plant sale including an ‘Arkansas Auction’ with prizes, as well as many different demonstrations, such as “succulent container gardening” and “growing in a straw bale.”

The Master Gardeners will be accepting food donations for the Yellville Food Closet during the event.

As Earth Day approaches, locally, a few areas will be hosting clean up events.

In collaboration with the Fred Berry Crooked Creek Conservation Center, the Kelly’s Slab clean up on Crooked Creek will take place Friday afternoon from 4 to 6. Volunteers from the Marion County 4-H program will clean the roadway along MC 4002, as well as the parking area and creek banks.

On Saturday, the Bull Shoals White River State Park will host an Earth Day Celebration and state park clean up beginning at 10. With the theme of this year’s Earth Day being “Invest in Our Planet,” the state park is inviting the community to participate in a park-wide clean up in affiliation with Keep Arkansas Beautiful.

The event will take place at the State Park Trout Dock.
