Allen Kee / ESPN Images(NEW YORK) — Despite rumors, former New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez is not taking the field with another team this season, his publicist announced on Monday.
“I want to put all this talk to rest about Alex playing for any team this season. It’s not happening,” Ron Berkowitz said in a statement.
“Like he said Friday night, he is happy and he is going to take some time to relax and hang with his family and friends,” the publicist added.
Rodriguez, 41, played his final game in pinstripes last Friday. The next day, he was released by the team.
Rodriguez ended his career with the Yankees with a .200 batting average, nine home runs and 31 RBIs this season.
