Though the quarterback went 17-for-30 with just 165 passing yards against a struggling Jets defense, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said that he didn’t put the team’s offensive struggles on Keenum. “I don’t believe it’s the quarterback play,” Fisher said after the game, “I think it’s collectively.”

The Rams drafted rookie quarterback Jared Goff out of the University of California with the number one overall pick in this spring’s draft. Still, they aren’t ready to turn over the keys to their offense to Goff.

Changing quarterbacks, Fisher said, is “always a possibility when his time comes,” but that for now, he thought “Case did a nice job.”

In the win over the Jets, the Rams had the ball within the ten-yard line twice and within the 20-yard line three times, settling for field goals each time.
