Phil Ellsworth / ESPN Images(BRISTOL, Tenn.) — Ricky Stenhouse Jr. will honor the late sprint car driver Bryan Clauson at this weekend’s Sprint Cup Series race.

When the Roush Fenway Racing driver takes part in Saturday night’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway, he will use the blue-and-white Fastenal paint scheme employed by Clauson during the 2008 XFINITY Series season.

“It will be a huge honor to run the same Fastenal scheme that Bryan raced in 2008,” Stenhouse says in a statement. “This past week has been difficult for many but it has been great to see the racing community join together to support Bryan’s family, friends and [fiancée] Lauren. Bryan was one of my best friends and hopefully we can “parked it” in victory lane on Saturday for Bryan.”

Clauson died from injuries suffered at a sprint car event earlier this month in Kansas. He was 27.
