Several Sprint Cup Teams Receive Warning for Failed Laser Inspection

Hemera/Thinkstock(DOVER, Del.) — Several Sprint Cup Series teams have been issued warnings after failing NASCAR’s laser inspection station during events at Dover International Speedway last weekend.

Paul Menard’s No. 27 team has received a written warning after failing laser inspection three times pre-qualifying, NASCAR.com reports. It will lose 15 minutes of practice time in advance of this weekend’s race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Josh Wise’s No. 30 team failed pre-race laser inspection three times, and will also lose 15 minutes of practice time.

Kevin Harvick’s No. 4 team, Jeff Gordon’s No. 88 team, Michael Annett’s No. 46 team and AJ Allmendinger’s No. 47 team all served a penalty at Dover for failing laser inspection.

Carl Edwards’ No. 19 team, David Ragan’s No. 23 team and Trevor Bayne’s No. 6 team failed laser inspection twice during pre-qualifying but were not penalized, NASCAR.com notes.
