Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight & More Featured in Upcoming ABC Special Celebrating New African American Museum

ABC/Fred WatkinsIn January, ABC will air an all-star celebration highlighting the Smithsonian’s new National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. The two-hour show, which is titled Taking the Stage: African American Music and Stories that Changed America, will premiere Thursday, January 12, at 9 p.m. ET.

Among the many stars that took part in the celebration were Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Oprah Winfrey, Christina Aguilera, Will Smith and many others. The event, which featured music, dance and spoken word performances, was held on September 23, one day before the museum’s official opening.
