Eagle Rock EntertainmentThe members of Styx offered have offered more information about their upcoming Live at the Orleans Arena Las Vegas DVD, which arrives September 2. Lead guitarist James “J.Y.” Young tells Billboard, “Look, we know what people want from us. It’s ‘Come Sail Away’ and ‘Lady’ and ‘Light Up’,” referring to some of the band’s big hits. To that end, fans can view a teaser video of “Light Up” now at Billboard.com. Of that song — which was first included on the 1975 album Equinox — Young adds, “It’s a great piece, and it’s very powerful live.”

The new DVD is just the latest in a series of videos that Styx has unveiled over the past decade or so. They haven’t released an album of new material, though, since 2003’s Cyclorama. “Radio won’t play anything new and nobody buys albums anymore,” Young states bluntly. “So why put in all that time and money into making something [new] when we can put out something we know they want and they’ll really like.”

Adds singer-guitarist Tommy Shaw, “Since radio has changed so much, this is something that’s harder to lose control of… We shoot it. We edit it. We put it out and we know how many our sold. It really feels like ours.”

In addition to “Light Up,” Live at the Orleans Arena Las Vegas includes Styx classics like “Renegade,” “Blue Collar Man” and “Too Much Time on My Hands.”
