Credit: David J HoganAfter The Rolling Stones‘ Exhibitionism display ends its run at New York City’s Industria Gallery on March 12, the expansive and interactive exhibit will be moving to Chicago. The band has announced that Exhibitionism will reopen at the Windy City’s Navy Pier on April 15, and will remain at that location until July 30.
Tickets for the Chicago edition of the exhibit will go on sale to the public at StonesExhibitionism.com on Friday, February 24, at 10 a.m. CT, while special early-bird VIP tickets will be available for a 25-percent discount from now until Tuesday, February 21.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel says of Exhibitionism, “This world-class exhibit brings full-circle a journey that began more than 50 years ago when a burgeoning British band came to Chicago to record in the same studio as their idols Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley and Howlin’ Wolf. Since then we have seen the Rolling Stones return for countless legendary concerts, and in the process become living legends, spreading Chicago’s cultural vibrancy throughout the world.”
Exhibitionism was put together with the full cooperation of The Rolling Stones. The attraction features various themed areas incorporating a massive collection of memorabilia, including more than 500 rare artifacts. The exhibit also includes unheard audio tracks, rare video clips, film presentations and more. Among the films are a 3-D flick that treats the viewer to a band’s-eye view of one of The Stones’ recent performances.
The exhibit premiered at London’s Saatchi Gallery in April 2016, and ran there until September. It had its New York City opening in November. Incidentally, New York’s Industria Gallery has been offering discounted tickets to Exhibitionism during its final weeks there.
