Thursday schedule includes MH volleyball team ending conference playoffs

Football, volleyball and basketball make up the local Thursday schedule.



The Mountain Home High School volleyball team will return to the Hangar for one last time this season as they wrap up action in the 6A-East Conference Playoffs. The Lady Bombers will take on West Memphis for third place in the tournament and to determine seeding in next week’s Class 6A State Tournament. The start time is scheduled for 5:30.



There’s plenty of high school basketball in the area as the Twin Rivers Classic continues in the Bobby D. Hulse Gymnasium at Norfork. Action tips off with a doubleheader between Calico Rock and Omaha starting with the girls at four p.m., the Norfork girls meet South Side-Bee Branch at 6:30, and Flippin’s boys face South Side at 7:45.

The Bad Boy Mowers Classic gets back underway at Izard County High School in Brockwell. In girls’ action, Sloan-Hendrix and Bradford tip off at 3:30, Hillcrest takes on Abundant Life at 6:30, and the host Lady Cougars play Pangburn at 7:30. In the boys’ games, Izard County meets Riverside at 4:30, Bradford will be matched up with Abundant Life at 5:30, and Hillcrest faces Pangburn at 7:30.

In junior high basketball, Cotter travels to Valley Springs, Lead Hill makes the trip to Jasper, and Bergman heads to Alpena.



The junior high football season comes to an end for Mountain Home as two of its teams welcome Melbourne to Bomber Stadium. The seventh grade game kicks off at 5:00 followed by the freshmen contest.

In other junior high football, Marshall travels to Clinton, and Harrison hosts Alma.
