Phil Ellsworth / ESPN Images(SAN DIEGO) — It was a first round to forget for Tiger Woods at the Torrey Pines South Course in the Farmers Insurance Open. The 41-year-old shot a 76, four over par, his worst opening round in a calendar year in his career.

Woods is currently tied for 133rd, and will need to go well under par in the second round to make the 36-hole cut, where he’ll need to be in the top 70.

After bogeying his first hole, Woods was able to par eight straight to stay at one over in the front nine. He started the back nine off strong, hitting birdies on his first two holes, but struggled down the stretch, incluidng a double-bogey on the par-4 15th.
