Phil Ellsworth / ESPN Images(DUBAI, United Arab Emirates) — Tiger Woods has pulled out of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. His announcement came Friday morning before he began his second-round of play at Emirates Golf Club.

ESPN reports Woods, 41, withdrew from the tournament due to a back spasm he began suffering Thursday night. His agent said the pain is not related to the nerve issues Woods has dealt with over the past couple of years.

“He says it’s not the nerve pain that’s kept him out for so long,” Mark Steinberg said, according to ESPN.

During his opening-round Thursday, Woods shot a 77.
