Although the manhunt was called off late Monday night, the Baxter County Sheriff's Department search for 29 year old Robert Finch Jr. continues. According to a spokesperson with the Baxter County Sheriff's Office, deputies are patrolling areas where they believe Finch Jr. could show up. The search began after it was reported Finch had allegedly assaulted his wife, Delores Finch, with a crowbar at a residence in the Midway area, forced her into a vehicle against her will and fled. Captain Jeff Lewis from the Baxter County Sheriff's Office says Finch and his wife were located at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Calamity Beach Recreation Area off County Road 37 near the Missouri state line where Mrs. Finch escaped and was taken into custody by Baxter County Sheriff Deputies. She was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center but is not listed as a patient at this time.
Robert Finch Jr. is described as being 5 foot 7 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with short brown hair. He is believed to be wearing jeans, a gray thermal shirt and boots. He is wanted on charges of felony kidnapping, felony aggravated residential burglary, felony battery, felony terroristic threatening and felony fleeing from an officer.
