Voyager of the Seas Voyager of the Seas

Many thanks to our KTLO Cruisers and Mtn. Home Charter and Tours for making our 2012 cruise our most fun cruise yet!  Scott and Betty Lumbert arranged it all for us and took care of everything so we could have a hassle-free trip.

We traveled on luxury motor coaches to New Orleans, where many of us visited Bourbon Street, dined in famous New Orleans restaurants and collected beads at a Mardi Gras parade.  The next morning we visited the Mardi Gras World Museum and spent time at Riverwalk before boarding Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Voyager of the Seas for a fabulous seven night Caribbean cruise to Falmouth, Jamaica; Georgetown, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.

On board activities included Vegas style shows and productions, an amazing ice skating show, seminars on everything from wine pairings to napkin folding, comedy shows, karaoke, parades down the Royal Promenade, bingo, movies, dance lessons, art auctions, a casino, ice skating, 14 bars and lounges featuring live music; in short, something for everyone!  Duty-free shops on board featured perfumes and cosmetics, jewelry and watches, clothing and handbags, liquor and cigarettes, souvenirs, toiletries and drugstore items.

On port days some of us went snorkeling, took historic tours or got up close and personal with dolphins and stingrays.  Some visited private beaches or Mayan ruins, tried the zip-line or learned all about making tequila.  And always there was shopping, shopping, shopping!  Those who stayed aboard the ship enjoyed time in a hot tub or languid days by the pool, visited the spa or fitness center, played trivia or mini golf or chose from any number of other activities.

And there was the food!  It was fresh, delicious, abundant and everywhere!  There was the beautiful three-story main dining room of course, but also ice cream, pizza and coffee bars, sandwich bars, bountiful buffets, specialty restaurants and round-the-clock room service.  If anyone left hungry, it was their own fault!

Many of this year’s cruisers had so much fun they’ve already made reservations for our 2013 cruise.  If you’d like to join us, click here for more information.  To view our 2012 cruise album scroll down.
