Tuesday volleyball and golf results


The Mountain Home High School volleyball team picked up a conference win at home last night as they cruised past West Memphis. The Lady Bombers won by scores of 25-9, 25-11 and 26-24.
Ashlyn Bauerlein had 10 kills, Katie Dunn had eight kills, Sara Banter collected 22 assists, Cassie Martin had seven assists and Ashton Garner served four aces.
The Lady Bombers are 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the 7A/6A East. They play at Little Rock Central Thursday.


The Class 1A District 4 Golf Tournament was played yesterday at Coopers Hawk in Melbourne. The Izard County girls won the district championship, finishing 30 strokes ahead of second place Armorel.
The Lady Cougars' Jordan Sherrell was medalist with a 102 and Falyn Farmer was second with a 105. Both qualified for the Class 1A State Tournament. Caitlin VanGinhoven of Mammoth Spring was fourth with a 107.
On the boy's side, Ridgefield Christian won the team event. Mammoth Spring was third and Calico Rock was sixth.
Leyton Clark of Armorel was the medalist with a 76. Josh Cathey of Mammoth Spring was third with a 93 to qualify for state. Calico Rock was led by Darby Ketron who finished seventh. Izard County's top golfer was Cody Workman who tied for eighth.


In Fall baseball in Missouri, Dora improved their record to 12-1 with a 3-2 win over Hartville. The Falcons play in the Preacher Roe Tournament in West Plains this weekend.
