Death of jail inmate Self ruled accidental

     A Baxter County jail inmate who was found dead in his cell on May 31st died from accidental mixed drug intoxication, according to the state Medical Examiner's Office.
     The Medical Examiner determined 36 old Thomas Lee Self of Gassville had seven different kinds of controlled substances in his system at the time of his death, according to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery.
     Self was found unresponsive in a holding cell at the jail at 9:15 the morning after he was arrested. Emergency medical personnel were called and Self was declared dead. He had been taken into custody by Gassville police about 10:30 the previous night on two misdemeanor charges.
     The Arkansas State Police investigated the incident.
