MH schools seeking public's help in honoring veterans

     As part of an annual effort to help honor veterans, the Mountain Home Public Schools are asking for the public's help in locating local veterans who left high school before graduation to serve in World War II, Korea or Vietnam.
     Mountain Home school officials say in the spirit of patriotism and in concordance with state law, the district will award school diplomas to those veterans who meet the qulifications.
     The qualifications are: the veteran must have been honorably discharged from the military, reside in the Mountain Home School District, and have served a minimum of 18 consecutive months active duty or have been discharged with a service-related disability between September 16, 1940 and December 31, 1946 for World War II, between June 1, 1950 and January 1, 1954 for Korean Conflict, or between July 3, 1965 and May 15, 1975 for the Vietnam War.
     Persons who know of a veteran who meets the qualifications shoudl contact the Mountain Home Public School's Assistant Superintendent's Office as soon as possible at 425-1201.
