Two vehicle accident in Mountain Home Friday night

A two vehicle accident Friday night sent two women to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Mountain Home Police Officer Rodney Wiggins said the accident occurred about 10:30 at the intersection of 6th and Hickory Streets.

Nineteen year old Courtney L. Lunyou of Gassville, a passenger in the 2004 Dodge pick up truck driven by 22 year old Christopher P. Norwood of Mountain Home, was transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center. Sixty three year old Debra A. Smith, of Gamaliel, the driver of a 2002 Cadillac Deville, was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle. Hospital personnel say neither woman is listed as a patient today.

The accident occurred when Christopher P. Norwood, traveling south on Hickory Street, did not see the car heading east on 6th Street driven by Debra A. Smith. Norwood ran a stop sign, and hit Smith's car.

Norwood was not injured in the accident. Officer Wiggins cited Norwood with failure to yield, failure to register a vehicle, and no proof of insurance.
