A Baxter County man who allegedly sold a quantity of illicit drugs to a person who was cooperating with the Baxter County Sheriff's Department has been arrested and charged. Authorities say 26-year old Ryan Wade Amyx sold a quantity of drugs to a person who was cooperating with sheriff's investigators in July.
The cooperating citizen, according to Sheriff John Montgomery, was given $240 to make purchases from Amyx. Amyx allegedly sold approximately two grams of methamphetamine, four amphetamine/dextroamphetamine pills, and two additional prescription pills in exchange for the money. Montgomery said the buy was remotely monitored and recorded by sheriff's investigators.
Authorities said Amyx used a cellular telephone to make the sale which took place within 1,000 feet of the Ray Stahl Soccer Complex on Highway 5 South.
Amyx was charged with felony delivery of methamphetamine, two felony counts delivery of a schedule two controlled substance, unlawful use of communications device and an enhanced penalty statute of making the sale near a park.
Bond for Ryan Wade Amyx was set at $20,000.
