BXCO youth charged in connection with recent vehicle break-ins

A 17 year old Baxter County youth faces felony charges and has been taken into custody following an investigation into four recent auto break-ins.   Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the unidentified youth is charged with four counts of breaking or entering and criminal mischief as well as misdemeanor charges of theft of property.
According to the sheriff, three vehicles were broken into on December 17; two on Dodd Creek Road and the third on Hicks Road.   The fourth vehicle break-in, at an unspecified location, occurred the following day.   Items stolen included wallets, cash and credit/debit cards valued at $1,163 and damage to one vehicle at nearly $1,200.
The sheriff says a suspect was developed and some of the stolen articles were recovered.   The youth was taken into custody Friday and turned over to Baxter County Juvenile Services.
