National chain to open rent-to-own store in MH

Aaron's, Incorporated, a nationally franchised rent-to-own store, is coming to Mountain Home. A sign announcing their new location can be seen adjacent to Walgreen's on U.S. Highway 62 in Mountain Home.
According to the company's website, Aaron's, Inc. is a national leader in the sales and lease ownership and specialty retailing of residential and home appliances and accessories. The company, which was founded in 1955 and is headquartered in Atlanta, has more than 1,800 company-operated and franchised stores in 48 states and Canada. The company has stores in West Plains and at numerous locations in Arkansas. There are stores in Batesville, Fayetteville, Conway, Hot Springs, Fort Smith, Newport, Paragould, Pocahontas, Russellville, Trumann, Wynne and other locations.
No job estimates can be confirmed, as the number of jobs will be dependent on the final store square footage. No information was available on the size of store the company plans to build.
Bo Gregory, economic development director for the Chamber, said while he had not spoken with representatives of the company, Eddie Majeste, Chamber executive director, had communicated with Aaron's in the past.
Gregory said the decision by Aaron's to locate in Mountain Home is an example of the area's robust retail growth. He said per a recent conversation with a retail recruitment professional more retail property is being built now in the United States than any time in the past five years. The Chamber, he said, is continuing to see results of marketing exposure for the Mountain Home area as a result of the Chamber's FOCUS Mountain Home initiative.
