Two hurt in accident involving car and tractor

A woman from Viola and a West Plains man were injured when a car hit the rear of a tractor on a highway just south of South Fork in Howell County. The woman, 60-year old Sandy Love, was transported by ambulance to Ozark Medical Center in West Plains for treatment of what were described as minor injuries. Seventy-five yearold James Tyree, who was driving the tractor, received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene of the accident about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when Sandy Love, driving a Cadillac, was northbound on Route E about four miles south of South Fork. Her car struck the rear of a northbound John deer tractor that was driven by Tyree. Sandy Love's Cadillac then skidded off the road and struck a fence, ingniting a grass fire. The tractor traveled off the right side of the roadway.
     Both vehicles were totaled.
The Howell Rural Fire Department and Moody Fire Department responded and put out the fire.
