Smoke from fire near Clarkridge hurts visibility on Hwy. 201 N.

Motorists traveling in the Clarkridge area are being warned that visibility on Highway 201 North about a mile-and-a-half south of the state line may be diminished Thursday afternoon due to smoke from a grass fire.
Members of the Clarkridge Fire Department are fighting the fire and firefighters with Arkansas Forestry are enroute to help. A observer at the scene said high winds are causing the fire to spread.
The fire is located in area between County Road 35 and County Road 37. It was reported to Baxter County 911 at 2:13 Thursday afternoon.
Personnel at 911 said several other fires were reported Thursday afternoon. The Midway Fire Department was called to a grass and brush fire off County Road 1046. Also, the Grover Township Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a grass fire off Surrey Lane.
