The Schliemann Center for Women's Health Education at Baxter Regional Medical Center has announced upcoming events for March.
Tuesday, March 4th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Advanced Nurse Practitioner Kelly Camp from King Dermatology will discuss skin cancer and what can be done to prevent it and how to repair skin damaged from overexposure to the sun.
Thursday, March 13th from 5:30 to 7 in the evening Dr. Adam Newman and Jan Halligan, dietician from the Reppell Diabetes Center at Baxter Regional Medical Center will discuss who diet can affect skin. And on Thursday, March 20 Dr. Joanna Twombly from the Comprehensive Women's Clinic at Baxter Regional Medical Center will be speaking at the Schliemann Center from noon until 1 p.m.
A special event for teenage girls will be held Thursday March 19th when the Schliemann Center and Arkansas State University in Mountain Home host "Teen Girls Go to College" on the campus of ASU-Mountain Home.
Ongoing events at the Schliemann Center include Diva Strength, a group fitness class, held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9 to 10:30; the Menopause Support Group facilitated by Dr. Mary Wren held on the second Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. until noon and Breastfeeding Classes held on the last Monday evening of each month from 6 until 8 with Sandy Geeding, a neonatal nurse from Baxter Regional Medical Center.
The Schliemann Center also hosts monthly childbirth classes with Registered Nurse Heather Morrison. For information, reservations and the monthly schedule, call at 508-2345.
