Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery is notifying the public of a level two sex offender who has moved to a new address in Mountain Home. The sheriff says 28 year old Jared James Householder, who was residing at 714 Gray Street, has moved to 100 Fair View Lane. A level two sex offender, according to the sheriff, is at moderate risk to re-offend.
Householder was convicted in 2004 of engaging in sexual activity with a 13 year old female acquaintance. Community notification is justified due to the young age of the victim.
Sheriff Montgomery says Jared James Householder is not wanted by law enforcement at this time. This notification, he says, is not intended to increase fear, but rather it is his belief that an informed public is a safer public. This information can not be used to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders and citizen abuse will not be tolerated. Such abuse, he says, could potentially end law enforcement's ability to do community notification.
