The Mountain Home junior high track teams competed in the Junior First National Bank Relays Friday at Green Forest.
The Junior Lady Bombers finished third in the team standings. Individually for the Mountain Home girls, Desiree Mitchell won the discus and the shot put, Rebecca McGough won the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Riley Walker won the 200-meter dash and took fourth in the 100-meter dash, Hope Menendez was second in the high jump and tied for third in the pole vault, Brandee Strain finished third in the shot put, and Britney Leonard ended up third in the 400-meter dash. In addition, the team of Taylor Collins, Leonard, Maddy Lewis and Walker finished second in the 4x100-meter relay; Courtney Green, Lewis, Leonard and Walker were third in the 4x400-meter relay; and Alexandra Carlisle, Alexa Darracq, Allie Bauwens and McGough took fifth in the 4x800-meter relay.
On the boys' side, Mountain Home was the fourth-place team on the leaderboard. Jonathan Fox won the shot put and finished second in the discus, David Byrd took second in the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs, Carson Davis was fourth in the pole vault, Eddie Just ended up fourth in the 400-meter dash, and Isaac McKay finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles. The team of McKay, Just, Roy Davis and Glen Sailor took third in the 4x100-meter relay; McKay, Just, Austin Helms and Sailor were third in the 4x400-meter relay; and Daniel Jackson, Jordan Peterson, Otto Blum and Byrd finished fifth in the 4x800-meter relay.
The Junior Bomber track teams will travel to Harrison on Monday.
