Confederate Memorial Day services and civil war marker dedication today in Mtn. Home

The public is invited to the Confederate Memorial Day ceremony and dedication of the Civil War Marker Saturday in Mountain Home.
The Confederate Memorial Day ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Mountain Home Cemetery.   The event, sponsored by the United Daughters of the Confederacy will honor one of the 38 Confederate soldiers buried at the cemetery.   This year's honoree is Milas H. Paul.   The 30 minute ceremony includes a cannon firing by the Wiggins battery Civil War Reenactors in salute to all veterans buried in the cemetery.
As part of the Arkansas Sesquicentennial Civil War Celebration, a marker commemorating a skirmish between Confederate and Union soldiers near Mountain Home will be dedicated at 1:30 at the Baxter County Courthouse square.
The public is invited to both events.
