Electronics recycling Friday and Saturday at ASU-MH

The Stream Team from Arkansas State University in Mountain Home is holding a two-day electronic waste recycling drive Friday and Saturday in front of the Health Science Building, Gotaas Hall, in parking lot 1-B on the university campus.
Amanda Heard, from the communication department at the university, says Friday is for commercial waste customers and Saturday is for residential waste, however, individuals may bring their electronics for recycling either day.

Electronic waste, according to Heard, includes computers, telephones and cellular phones, copiers, electronic cables, DVD players, VCRs, stereo equipment and small appliances.
Only about 18 percent of electronics are being recycled in the U.S. presently and recycling programs like the one being held at ASU-Mountain Home are a way to help protect the environment.
